جن لوگوں کو دنیا کے بلند ترین قدرتی سٹیڈیم شندور میں ہر سال سجنے والا پولو میلہ دیکھنے کا اتفاق ہوا ہے انہیں شندور کے نزدیک ترین گاوں ہرچین لاسپور میں مشہور مہمان نواز شخصیت گل ولی خان المعروف بابائے لاسپور کی مہمان نوازی کا لطف اٹھانے کا موقع ضرور ملا ہوگا۔ بابائے لاسپور نے کچھ عرصہ قبل داعی اجل کو لبیک کہہ دیا مگر ان کے خاندان میں مہمان نوازی کی روایت ہنوز برقرار ہے۔
بابائے لاسپور کے فرزند ارجمند امیر اللہ خان یفتالی نے نہ صرف اپنے خاندان کی روایت کو برقرار رکھا بلکہ قومی خدمت کا اپنا الگ معیار قائم کیا۔ اگر یہ کہا جائے کہ یفتالی اپنی ذات میں ایک مکمل انجمن ہیں۔ وہ سیاسی شخصیت، سماجی کارکن، تاریخ دان، پولو کے بہترین کھلاڑی اور چترال کی تہذیب و تمدن، روایات، اقدار، زبان اور ثقافت کے زندہ امین ہیں۔
انہوں نے اپنی رہائش گاہ کے ساتھ ایک عجائب گھر بھی قائم کیا ہے جو خیبر پختونخوا میں نجی شعبے میں قائم ہونے والا پہلا عجائب گھر ہے۔ اس عجائب گھر میں قدیم زمانے کا سامان حرب، نایاب و نادر دستکاریاں، کئی سو سال پہلے اس خطے کے لوگوں کے پہناوے، پولو سے متعلق تمام سامان اور موسیقی کے تمام آلات موجود ہیں۔
امیر اللہ یفتالی مصالحتی کمیٹی کے بھی رکن ہیں۔ وہ مختلف اقوام اور افراد کے درمیان تنازعات کو ثالثی کے ذریعے پر امن طور پر حل کر چکے ہیں اور مختلف اخبارات میں علاقے کے مسائل بھی اجاگر کرتے رہے ہیں۔ ان کے سینے میں قوم کا درد رکھنے والا دل ہے۔ بڑوں کا احترام اور بچوں سے پیار انہیں وراثت میں ملا ہے۔
اپنی مٹی سے محبت کرنے والی ایسی شخصیات کی بدولت ہی چترال کی تہذیب و ثقافت زندہ ہے۔ تمغہ حسن کارکردگی ایسی شخصیات کے سینے پر سجتا ہے۔

Those who have had the good fortune to witness the annual polo festival at Shandur — the world's highest natural polo ground — will surely have experienced the legendary hospitality of Gul Wali Khan, known as Baba-e-Laspur, in the nearby village of Harchin, Laspur. Baba-e-Laspur answered the call of his Creator some years ago, yet the tradition of hospitality in his household endures to this day.
Baba-e-Laspur's distinguished son, Amir Ullah Khan Yaftali, has not only upheld his family's tradition but has established his own extraordinary standard of national service. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Yaftali is, in his own person, a complete institution. He is a political figure, a social worker, a historian, one of the finest polo players, and a living custodian of Chitral's civilization, traditions, values, language, and culture.
He has established a museum adjacent to his residence — the first privately established museum in all of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This museum houses ancient weaponry, rare and precious handicrafts, clothing worn by the people of this region centuries ago, all manner of polo equipment, and a complete collection of traditional musical instruments.
Amir Ullah Yaftali also serves as a member of the Peace Committee. He has peacefully resolved disputes between different communities and individuals through mediation, and has consistently highlighted the issues of his region in various newspapers. In his chest beats a heart that carries the pain of his nation. Respect for elders and love for children are qualities he inherited as a birthright.
It is because of such personalities — those who love their soil — that the culture and civilization of Chitral remain alive. The Medal of Meritorious Service adorns the chest of such personalities.
